BurgundyBlend vs Booksy
Booksy charges a monthly subscription whether or not it brings you a booking. We charge nothing until a client we introduced actually books.
The short answer
Choose BurgundyBlend if you would rather pay for results than for access. Booksy charges a subscription every month whether or not it brings you a booking, and more as you add staff; we charge nothing to be listed and $3 flat only when The Chair introduces someone new.

How Booksy charges
- A monthly subscription, charged whether or not it brings you a single booking
- More per month as you add staff
- The listing is bundled into that fee, so you pay for reach in the months you get none
- Card processing on top
How we charge
- No monthly fee is required to be listed or to take bookings
- $3 flat when The Chair introduces somebody new
- Nothing on clients you brought yourself, ever
- Optional Grow and Pro plans lift limits, but nothing is gated behind them to get booked
Two different jobs
These are not the same product with different prices. Work out which problem you actually have.
Booksy is for
Booksy is a subscription you pay every month, whether the directory inside it produces a booking or not.
BurgundyBlend is for
BurgundyBlend is discovery first, with the whole shop included: calendar, staff, availability, deposits, payouts and reporting. The difference is you pay when it works, not before.
Side by side
The decisions that actually differ, rather than a feature count.
| Decision | BurgundyBlend | Booksy |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay in a slow month | Nothing. No listing fee, no monthly minimum, no charge unless a new client actually books. | The full subscription, unchanged, whether the month produced bookings or not. |
| Adding staff | Staff are included. Growing the team does not raise what it costs to be found. | Priced per seat, so the monthly cost climbs as you hire. |
| How you get discovered | The Chair: clips of your work with your next free slot attached, across Canada and the US. | A listing bundled into the subscription, so you pay for reach in the months you get none. |
| Running the shop | Calendar, staff, availability, deposits, payouts, reviews and reporting included at no cost. | A capable calendar too. This is not the axis the decision turns on. |
| Your brand | Your own storefront, link and QR codes, and your own clients never attract a fee. | Worth asking what you are renting each month, and what happens to it when you stop. |
Does being on a marketplace cost me my own clients?
It is the fair question to ask, and our answer is in what we charge. You get your own branded storefront, your own link and QR codes, and clients you bring yourself are free forever, however many times they rebook. We are paid only when The Chair puts you in front of somebody new. A platform that takes a percentage of every booking, or a monthly fee whether it sends you anyone or not, is charging you for the clients you already had.
Worth adding us if
- Your months are uneven and a fixed fee bites hardest in the slow ones
- You are building your book and cannot justify paying before the bookings exist
- Your work is visual, and a clip of it sells better than a name on a list
You do not have to switch anything. Listing is free and there is no monthly fee, so keep what you use and let us prove it by sending you someone.

BurgundyBlend vs Fresha
Fresha takes a percentage of the new clients its marketplace sends you. We charge a flat amount, so the fee does not grow when your prices do.
BurgundyBlend vs Square Appointments
Square is scheduling and payments software. It does not go and find you clients. We are a discovery marketplace, and the calendar is the part that comes after.
