A deposit secures your appointment and confirms your booking with the professional. It is not an extra charge: it is part of the service price and is credited toward your total, so you pay exactly what the business lists and nothing more. The deposit is held securely by BurgundyBlend until your appointment is complete, and the remaining balance is paid directly to the business at your appointment. Some businesses ask for the full price at booking instead, in which case there is nothing left to pay when you arrive. The deposit amount and the business's cancellation policy are both shown before you confirm.

Each business sets its own policy within our limits, a notice window (24 or 48 hours) and whether the deposit is refundable, and you always see the exact policy before you confirm a booking. In general: if the business cancels, your deposit is refunded in full with no charge. If you cancel with at least the required notice and the deposit is refundable, it is refunded automatically to your original payment method, less the card processing cost on your deposit, usually under a dollar, which the card networks do not return to us. If you cancel late, no-show, or the business has set a non-refundable deposit, the deposit is kept to protect the professional's time. Only the deposit is ever refundable through BurgundyBlend; the remaining balance is paid directly to the business. Refunds are issued straight away on our side, but it typically takes 5 to 10 business days for the money to appear back on your card. That wait is set by your bank and the card networks, not by us.

Yes. Once your booking is confirmed, a conversation opens between you and the business inside BurgundyBlend, about that appointment: where to park, what to bring, whether you need a patch test, or that you are running late. Neither of you has to give out a phone number. It is scoped to the one appointment rather than being a general inbox, so there is no way to be messaged by a business you have not booked, and the conversation closes two days after the appointment. Messaging is in the iPhone app and in the web app at app.burgundyblend.com. Android is on the way.

Yes. Post a request saying what you want, roughly what you want to spend and when you are free, and professionals near you who do that kind of work can send you a price. Each one sends a single quote and none of them can see what the others offered, so you get their real number rather than whoever was willing to go lowest in public. You see their work, their price and the exact time they are offering. Choose one and complete the booking flow, including any required deposit, to confirm the appointment at that price. Nothing happens to the quotes you did not take. Your request shows your first name and your general area, never your exact address or your contact details.
