The Ask

Ask for what you want. Get real prices back.

Searching only works when somebody near you has already listed the thing you want. Post it instead, and the professionals who do that work come to you with a price and a time.

Or post one from your browser.

How it works

Three steps, and the second one is the point

01

Describe it once

The look you want, roughly what you want to spend, and when you are free. Add a photo of what you mean, which is usually clearer than a paragraph.

02

Quotes come back sealed

Professionals near you reply with one price each, for your job, at a time inside the window you gave. None of them can see what the others offered.

03

Pick one

You see their work, their price and the exact time. Accept it and it becomes a real appointment at that price. The quotes you did not take simply close.

Why sealed

Nobody is bidding against a number on a screen

Ask for a price in a Facebook group and every answer is public, so the thread turns into who will go lowest in front of everyone. Here each professional sends one price and cannot see anybody else's.

What you get

The price a professional will actually do your job for, rather than the number somebody was willing to shout in a comments thread. A quote arrives attached to a clip of their work, the service it maps to, and the exact time they are offering, so you are comparing like with like.

Why they answer

A quiet Tuesday afternoon is money a salon never gets back. A request is a client who has already said what they want, what they will spend and when they are free, which is a far better prospect than an empty chair. We charge the professional a flat fee if you book, and never a percentage of their work.

Worth knowing

The parts people ask about

Asking costs nothing
Posting a request is free and you are never obliged to accept a quote. If you do accept one, you pay the price you agreed, and any deposit comes off that price rather than being added to it.
What professionals see
Your first name and your city. Never your surname, your address or your contact details, and a request carrying a phone number or an email address is refused. Your location is rounded to roughly a kilometre before it is stored, so a professional sees a neighbourhood rather than a doorstep.
Up to eight quotes, for up to fourteen days
A request takes eight replies and then closes to new ones, and it stops accepting quotes after fourteen days or when the dates you asked for pass, whichever comes first. Eight prices is a choice; eighty would be a chore.
It becomes an ordinary appointment
An accepted quote is a normal booking in your Bookings list, with the same deposit, reminders and cancellation policy as any other, and you can message the business once it is confirmed. Nothing about it is a different, lesser kind of appointment.

Stop scrolling. Describe it.

It takes about a minute, and the professionals who can do it come to you.
